Each one of our coaches is recognised by their ability to practice what they preach. Our commitment, focus and passion to sustained excellence has led to us being acknowledged as one of the forerunners of personal training in our home market of Dublin, and that is not a distinction that happens by chance. Not ever with us, will you find the most “up-to-date” exercise gimmick or health fad – there are no vibration plates in our programming! We use what works for our clientele – if something is useful we keep it, if it is not we discard it instantly.

As a result of this, you’ll find that we are educated, informed and qualified to the highest possible standard in every aspect of physical conditioning and fitness. We are also very well qualified academically and highly experienced coming from a diverse range of sporting and academic backgrounds. We require that every trainer be accredited from the very best institutions, such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (USA) or the United Kingdom Strength & Conditioning Association (UK). We provide top-flight, qualified advice from coaches and trainers who have all studied under leading organisations and people such as Charles Poliquin, Functional Movement Systems, Functional Range Conditioning and the Elite Performance Institute. The standard and diversity of our trainers mean that we have an incredible team of coaches and personal trainers who can collectively give advise to any one of our clients. These world-class, academic credentials are backed up by hundreds of hours of practical, real world experience and results-focused training of real people to achieve some jaw-dropping, and very real results. Our results focused philosophy is based on “whatever it takes” to do the best job possible depending on the individual needs and circumstances of the person. We’ve assembled our own dream team of personal trainers that covers all exercise and nutritional backgrounds, who can be called upon to collectively give advise to any one individual on his or her specific needs with unparalleled excellence.

If you have any specific health conditions or injuries, your trainer will work with you and your doctor or physical therapist to plan a safe, effective program. Our passion and hunger for success motivate us to do everything that we can in order to achieve your goals. Even when we feel flat ourselves, we lift clients up. We send 10pm reminders to those reluctant dieters, NOT to reach for the biscuit tin. We get our clients to send us pictures of restaurant menus, if they’re not sure what’s best option to eat. We help you in every single possible way that we can – because we really care. More often than not, it’s a mental transformation – not just a physical one, ensuring that incredible results aren’t a quick fix; they really last.

If you want to take the easy path, then we respectfully suggest that you sign-up for a Zumba class, because TPC is not for you. Conversely, if you want to be given minimal attention to workout structure and form then join your local CrossFit box. Those businesses throw a series of exercises together and call it a “workout”. We are the opposite of those unscrupulous businesses. Those who are seeking a level of quality and mindful instruction for their bodies will find it here. Our intention is to continue offering training, far beyond the realm of any other personal training businesses and we cannot wait for you to experience them. That’s because, for all of us at The Physique Consultants, this is much more than just an occupation. John Peters, BSc, CSCS, FRCms, NCSC – TPC Co-Founder & Managing Director

Co-Founder & Managing Director of The Physique Consultants, John Peters, has been involved in a multitude of sports since he was a child. Over the years, as the physical exploration continued, John has become exposed to various forms of weight resistance exercises, gymnastic strength, handbalancing and aesthetics from the physique world.

Despite being in his mid-twenties, John has already amassed a wealth of practical experience in coaching, and is committed to the science of human optimisation and methodical nutritional planning. He is an experienced trainer of the “new breed” that helps to set TPC apart from the rest of the ineffectual fitness fluff that pervades the Irish Personal Training industry. Throughout this time, John has developed many of his own methods, opinions and practices – all of which he has used, evaluated, adapted, and, in some cases, completely scrapped. He has integrated information from others based on their sound logic, results, supporting science and their authority. His authoritative teaching style motivates his clients to achieve the results that they thought could never be attained, reaching far beyond their own self-perceived limitations. John employs a meticulous methodology in all things that could impact the success of his clients. This allows him to foresee the exact changes that will happen in his clients progress, establishing self-confidence and belief into his clients, eliminating any speculation, which in the past has too often been confusing and unclear. John leaves nothing to chance, taking an all-encompassing attitude to the health and fitness lifestyle, ensuring that every possible thing that could influence upon his client’s physical well-being and performance and is first evaluated, then modified for maximum results. His philosophy as a coach is simple: “practice what you preach”, while taking a no-nonsense and integrative approach to helping his clients achieve rapid health and fitness goals, whether they be athletic performance, fat loss or muscle building. He ensures that every one of his clients has an exercise philosophy and a viable programme that they can implement around their own schedule while still attaining their goals. This is the only possible way to guarantee sustainable long-term results.

All Personal Trainers and coaches can be characterised by the vast array of “tools in their toolbox”, John stands head and shoulders above the crowd due to his authentic arsenal of skills. There are no movements he prescribes to his clients that he has not experimented with himself. He is unrelenting in his pursuit to stay at the top of all the latest scientific advances in physical enhancement and has a constant desire to learn. He is an avid pursuer of his own continued self-improvement and continues to better himself by pursuing his education in the field of strength and conditioning by regularly attending various conferences, seminars and workshops with educational leaders in the industry throughout the world. John is constantly building upon his hands-on experience and is willing to have his mind changed if an individual’s argument is convincing enough! This mindset has lead to him learning from many great teachers such as Andreo Spina, Steve Atlas, Tristan Kobayashi, Yuval Ayalon, Yuri Marmerstein and many more.

John has had both a diverse academic and professional background. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport & Exercise Management from University College Dublin in September 2014, then moved on to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and completed the National Certificate in Strength and Conditioning (NCSC) through Elite Performance Institute. John is CPR-AED and Functional Movement Screen Level 1 certified, as well as Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms) certified.

Results are everything at TPC, and we like our Personal Trainers to reflect that culture right down to their marrow! Head Trainer and Co-Founder of The Physique Consultants, Hugh Peters is exactly that. Hugh graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Food Science in September 2015. After six months working with a successful, publicly traded, multinational corporation and leading player in the global food industry, he decided it wasn’t for him. He made a career move full time into what he still terms his “life’s passion” as a Personal Trainer. During his six months behind a desk he noticed how the long hours being sedentary, easy access to convenience food and the stress of high workloads contributed to weight gain, not only for himself but also for those around him. This has served him well in empathising with clients from all backgrounds.

Hugh is very well rounded, likeable, articulate, ambitious and approachable individual with a keen eye for improving all aspects of human performance. Hugh combines his tough no-nonsense approach with an always smiling, friendly personality. Hugh has proved himself to be a man who can deliver as both as an athlete and a coach. Helping individuals get into the best shape of their lives isn’t just part of an extended hobby for him, it is his career and passion. He stands out as an extremely hard worker who is prepared to go that extra mile for each and every one of his clients, everybody is pushed to their own personal limit and taught that comfort zones are flexible things that can pushed far harder than you ever thought possible!

Hugh is a student of the Ido Portal Method. Ido is the epitome of “expert generalist”; he practices movement from every system he can find, including gymnastics, capoeira, Chinese & Japanese martial arts, boxing, dance, circus and more. He has a great approach and philosophy backed up by solid methodology, and has had an important influence on the external/movement layer of Hugh’s practice.

An experienced coach as well as an accomplished BioPrint Practitioner, Hugh has gone way beyond the industry standards by adding an extra dimension to his work by pursuing his education in the field of strength and conditioning by regularly attending various conferences, seminars and workshops with educational leaders in the industry throughout the world.
